Museé de la Main

During the summer break, my family and I went to Switzerland. As we were heading toward Geneva, we passed Lausanne, a city on Lake Geneva, and decided to visit the Museé de la Main (Hand Museum) a medical museum.

The museum had many interactive exhibits some on the human body but most on AI. Although it was said to be a medical museum, it was more about how new innovations in AI have changed our lives, for the better and for the worse.

Archaebot was created by Anna Dumitriu and Alex May with the help of AI to explore what life would look like at the “end of the world”.

This is a model that eplains how a machine uses artificial intelligence to reach a conclusion using a series of questions.
This is a machine that can take a picture of you, and in an hour’s time, draw you onto a sheet of paper. The drawings were extremely accurate and looked very nice.

There were many more exhibits, like how AI can track your movements, recognize if you’re human, or even recognize your facial expression. There was also a whole section on how AI was being used for deepfakes and scams. Everything was in French, but with the help of Google Translate, I think I was able to understand most of it.
